Yhe Phantom turns 70 in Australia this year. At least the publisher of the books, Frew, does.

‘The Reef’ (1964) – last seen in Frew #1170, by Lee Falk and Sy Barry, followed by ‘Legacy of the Reef’ (or ‘The Jumbie’, as it has become known around the office), by the incomparable team of Christopher Sequeira and Massimo Gamberi – who is quickly becoming a fan favourite. Then comes ‘The Hijackers’ another classic Falk/Barry tale, from 1969 (Frew #1133), and its sequel, ‘The Yacht Thieves’ written and illustrated by the Italian maestro, himself, Angelo Todaro.
Add a Barry Stubbersfield introspective and an interview with Sy, himself, conducted by Swedish Phantom expert, Andreas Eriksson…AND wrap it up in a gorgeous specially-created Sy Barry cover, and you need to ask yourself the question: ‘Why am I sitting here reading this, when I should be at my local newsagent or comic shop, ordering this now’?!!
